What To Look For
After 20 years of hiking in the bay area I still have not seen a mountain lion – something for which I’m very grateful, but on this trip we did spot tracks in the dust that clearly belonged to one of the big cats. Full marks to the park service for displaying plenty of information for identifying tracks and what to do in the event of spotting a cat.

We went to Mt Tamalpais State Park looking for another cool (as in weather) hiking location.
Pan Toll at 10 am was a hotbed of activity. Large groups of people milling around, long lines at the bathrooms and water dripping off the trees giving the impression it was raining.

Ladybirds
While walking near the creek today we came across a large cluster of Ladybirds. Although I’d seen these clusters on television, it was amazing to witness in person so many of these colorful beetles packed together in one place.
